The design consists of various printed cotton calico blocks in shades of blue, red, and black on white grounds, which alternate with diamond-shaped blocks of red fabric decorated with a small-scale light-colored dot pattern. The quilt is finished with a dark blue cotton border featuring white polka dots at the top and bottom edges. The entire surface is hand-quilted in a diagonal grid pattern.
