Description
12 3/8 x 12 3/8 in (31.5 x 31.5 cm)
Provenance and Authentication:
According to the Letter of Authenticity (LOA) and Certificate of Authenticity (COA) provided by the consignor, this collectible was subjected to a forensic examination. The accompanying documentation states that the signatures were evaluated with reference to multiple characteristics, including ink deposition, material and aging characteristics, stylistic consistency, and historical context. Based on the examination described in these documents, the authentication provider concluded that the findings were consistent with the attributed signatures. The LOA and COA provided by the consignor accompany the lot.
A fully signed The Beatles Hey Jude LP, bearing the signatures of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr across the album cover. The four autographs are distributed around the group portrait rather than concentrated in a single area, allowing the individual signatures to remain visually distinct while preserving the impact of the celebrated image.
The accompanying vinyl retains its classic Apple Records label and is identified as Hey Jude, The Beatles, SW-385, Stereo. The compilation includes recordings such as "Can't Buy Me Love," "Paperback Writer," "Rain," "Lady Madonna," and "Revolution," connecting several important stages of the group's recording career.
Few forms of popular-music memorabilia possess the immediate historical resonance of an item signed by all four Beatles. A complete Lennon, McCartney, Harrison, and Starr autograph grouping has particular significance because the classic lineup can no longer be assembled through later signing opportunities. When those signatures appear directly on an official Beatles LP featuring all four members, the relationship between autograph, image, and musical history becomes especially compelling.
The Hey Jude cover provides an exceptionally appropriate presentation, combining a memorable late-period group portrait with four individually positioned signatures and the accompanying Apple Records vinyl. The result is a visually impressive example with broad appeal across autograph, Beatles, rock-and-roll, and 20th-century cultural collections.
