This magnifying glass features a three-section handle constructed from carved bone. The handle is composed of a floral terminal carved in high relief, a central octagonal shaft with recessed foliate panels, and a third section featuring a landscape scene with traditional architecture and trees. The handle terminates in a turned pommel which is fitted into a silver-toned metal collar. The collar is joined to a circular metal frame containing a clear glass lens. The metal components exhibit significant surface oxidation and a dark patina.
