An outstanding Hancock three chime whistle used on many notable steam locomotives including the Union Pacific Big Boy, Challengers, Northerns, and more. The whistle has the following markings Superheat 454 721 300 on the valve body along with the Hancock Inspirator Co. The arm is cast with what appears to be H 95 DS 454 209. The remainder of the whistle is unmarked. The languid plate appears to be in good condition with even spacing around the edges and the valve body moves freely with the original rope arm. The whistle measures 24" from end to end with an approximate diameter of 6". Please view our video to see this whistle in operation on 195+ pounds of steam. There are no notable condition issues beyond minor tool marks and some minor nicks at the edge of the whistle bell.
