Fine contemporary regional pottery piece is master-thrown in a small, curved vessel form by renowned fifth-generation traditional folk potter Celia Cole (1924-2015), originating from the historic pottery family in Sanford, North Carolina. The work features an exposed warm red clay body partially overlaid with a glossy mirror-black reflective glaze cascading in dramatic drips over a rich, earthy ground. The base bears both the stamped Cole Pottery mark and the artist's incised signature, dated 2004. It measures approximately 3 1/2 in. H x 3 1/4 in. in diameter overall. It is offered in good condition.
