This large-scale antique fine art print is in the tradition of the iconic Carolina Parrot (Plate 26) of the elephant folio from John James Audubon's masterwork, The Birds of America, after the originally engraved, printed, and colored print by Robert Havell & Son. The striking ornithological illustration depicts the vibrant, now-extinct parakeets amidst native cockleburr plants, presented within a handsome decorative gilt frame. The frame measures approximately 43 1/8 in. H x 32 1/8 in. W x 1 1/4 in. D overall. It shows age consistent toning and discoloration.
