Striking mid-century oil painting features an expressive color palette and dynamic gestural brushwork, depicting a contemplative male figure seated in the nude with his head downturned against a luminous, vibrant green background. The psychological intensity of the composition is matched by its bold execution and striking chromatic contrast. It is housed in an ornate decorative giltwood frame, measuring approximately 28 1/8 in. H x 22 1/8 in. W x 1 1/2 in. D overall, with condition disclosures including minor separation to the frame joints, expected age-related wear, and minimal surface wear to the canvas, consistent with mid-century modern figurative art production.
