Traditional handmade Lowcountry basket follows the classic shallow rice fanner form rooted in the historic Gullah culture of the American South. Expertly hand-coiled using native sweetgrass, longleaf pine needles, and bulrush bound with palmetto frond, the wide circular tray possesses a tight, resilient weave. It measures approximately 2 1/2 in. H x 19 in. in diameter overall. It is in good condition with some minimal breaks consistent with age and gentle handling.
