Expressive 20th-century landscape painting is executed on panel or canvas board in a confident impressionist style, demonstrating a strong command of color, atmospheric depth, and dynamic brushwork. The intimate forest composition captures a dense grouping of mature trees dramatically illuminated by the warm, glowing light of a striking sunset sky. It is handsomely housed in a rich carved walnut wooden frame. The framed work measures approximately 14 1/8 in. H x 10 1/2 in. W x 1/2 in. D overall. It is offered in good condition, with light wear to the frame consistent with age.
