Striking late 20th-century figurative work is executed in oil on fine-weave linen, demonstrating a high degree of academic naturalism and sensitive draftsmanship. The composition captures a bust-length portrait of a male subject with expressive, luminous blue eyes, set against a luminous and minimalist soft pink ground that accentuates the subtle modeling of form and light. It is signed and dated 1980 by the artist in the lower corner. It measures approximately 20 in. H x 15 in. W x 5/8 in. D overall, with minor edge loss and fraying to the raw linen margins outside the stretcher frame, alongside subtle age-related discoloration to painting surface.
