Fine example of Southern pottery was created by Douglas Ferguson, 1912-1999, an influential American potter and co-founder of the historic Pigeon Forge Pottery in Tennessee. The graceful, curving vessel is finished with a rich, earthy green glaze that pools organically across the textured surface. The base is signed by the maker. It measures approximately 6 3/8 in. H x 3 5/8 in. in diameter overall. It is offered in good condition.
