Southern folk art pottery vessel is executed in traditional glazed stoneware, taking the form of a large stoneware vase featuring an expressive applied relief motif of winding grapevines and fruit adorning its curved body. While unsigned, the piece carries a strong scholarly attribution to Arie Waldrop Meaders (1897-1989), widely recognized as one of the American South's most important and influential female folk ceramicists, or her legendary son Quillan Lanier Meaders (1917-1998), the celebrated folk artist from Cleveland, Georgia. It measures approximately 15 in. H x 9 in. in diameter overall. It is offered in good condition.
