Southern Folk Art Pottery Rooster

Description

Folk art pottery sculpture is master-thrown and hand-modeled by professional production potter Cory Houston Plott, the skilled craftsman behind Plottware Pottery, an art studio based in Western North Carolina specializing in high-fired, elegant, and utilitarian stoneware. Built upon a substantial thrown jug form, the large avian sculpture exhibits expressive applied plumage decoration alongside distinctive, structural tail feather handles, all covered in a rich, earthy olive alkaline-toned glaze characteristic of regional studio pottery traditions. The base bears the artist's signature. It measures approximately 19 3/4 in. H x 12 in. in diameter overall. It is offered in good condition.
