Description
Fine 19th-century mahogany banquet table composed of two complementary drop-leaf tables designed to be joined together to form a generously proportioned dining or banquet table. Raised on finely turned legs, the tables retain handsome period proportions and a warm, well-developed mahogany surface. According to family history, the table descended through multiple generations and was originally owned by Benjamin Cornick Ridgate (1783-1858) of Maryland. Measures approximately 29 in. H x 52 in. W x 88 in. L overall when assembled. Good overall condition with wear and losses to the top finish consistent with age and generations of use.
