Description
Fine 19th-century syrup pitcher was produced by the notable Staffordshire pottery firm Elsmore & Forster, celebrated for their quality ironstone china. The vessel features a graceful, bulbous curving white ironstone body fitted with a hinged pewter lid, handle, and thumbpiece assembly. It measures approximately 5 5/8 in. H x 5 3/8 in. in diameter overall, displaying natural age-related crazing and discoloration to the ceramic body, expected bends and patination to the historic metal mounts, and a minor chip to the foot base consistent with age.
