Description

ESTIMATED RETAIL PRICE: $1,300 *
*This is the estimated value a piece of similar quality, craftsmanship, and characteristics could command at retail.

Star rubies show asterism, a six rayed star born of rutile silk inside the crystal, and the paradox collectors savor is that the silk that would ruin a faceted ruby is precisely what makes the star. This stone earns a very good asterism call at over five carats, in the dark violetish red typical of natural star material. The catalog notes its natural growth features and a minor surface pit plainly, the kind of candor that lets a bidder price with confidence.
