Designed by wildlife artist Robert Dallet and first released in 1988, the Hermes Equateur scarf depicts the rich animal life of the equatorial rainforest. A central jaguar moves through dense foliage above a pool of water, surrounded by spotted cats, monkeys, a sloth, toucans, parrots, and wading birds. Dallet's detailed illustrations bring together the varied forms, markings, and colors of tropical wildlife.

This Carre 90 appears to be crafted in silk twill, with an ivory ground framed by green foliage and a broad navy blue border. Bright red, orange, yellow, and blue accents animate the birds and animals, contrasting with the softer botanical background. The Hermes Paris signature appears at the top, with the Equateur title at the lower edge. Accompanied by an orange Hermes presentation box. The production date of this individual example has not been established.
