British West Africa 1937 H 'Specimen or Proof' Penny, NGC SP66 (Pop 3)

Description

Highest graded NGC SP66 (3) & PCGS none

Condition
Lightly toned, minor spotting

Medium
British Africa

Provenance
Ex Noble, Sydney Sale 4/97 Lot 3025

Literature
NGC SP66 sold USD $353 (HA 1/16). In our opinion this coin is indisputably a Proof which can be traced back to the Melbourne Mint Duplicate Sale (1988). It may well have been a Proof Record Coin struck at the Royal Mint London which prepared the 1937 H Penny working dies for Birmingham.
