Austrian Art Nouveau Three Rooster Diminutive Vase with Talon Legs

Austria, Circa 1890s, Franz Bergmann School, Unmarked

This rare and striking Art Nouveau vase exemplifies the organic and dynamic workmanship of the late 19th century. Featuring a bulbous body adorned with three intricately detailed rooster heads in mid-crow, the piece captures movement and energy in a sculptural form. The vase is dramatically elevated on three lifelike talon legs, enhancing its avian theme and giving it a bold, animated presence.

Measuring 5.25 inches in height with a 3-inch diameter, this diminutive vessel makes an exceptional collector's piece. The vase opening is 1.25 inches wide, while the talon leg base spans approximately 3 inches in diameter. The attention to anatomical detail, from the expressive rooster heads to the textured talons, is indicative of the influence of the renowned Franz Bergman School, known for its masterful bronze works.

This unique piece stands as a testament to the Art Nouveau movement's fascination with nature and its fluid, organic forms. Ideal for collectors of fine Austrian bronzes, Art Nouveau design, or avian-themed decorative arts, this vase is both an artistic statement and a conversation piece.

A true treasure from the 1890s, embodying the elegance and bold imagination of the period.
