A striking 20th Century group of Daum France art glass, comprising a tall sculptural clear and frosted glass vase and a substantial circular bowl. Both pieces are beautifully formed in thick, heavy weight glass. The tall vessel features an elegant architectural form with contrasting polished clear glass and frosted detailing, while the circular bowl is accented with distinctive applied blue glass decorative elements, providing an attractive pop of colour against the crystal clear body. Both marked with the Daum logo.

Daum is a crystal studio based in Nancy, France, founded in 1878 by Jean Daum (1825–1885). His sons, Auguste Daum (1853–1909) and Antonin Daum (1864–1931), oversaw its growth during the burgeoning Art Nouveau period. Currently Daum is the only commercial crystal manufacturer employing the pâte de verre (glass paste) process for art glass and crystal sculptures, a technique in which crushed glass is packed into a refractory mould and then fused in a kiln.

CONDITION
In Good Overall Condition - The vase has a minor chip on the base which us unseen when placed on a table. The bowl has scratches to the base in keeping with age and use. Please refer to photographs.
