Expressive mid-century charcoal figure study depicting a seated nude female form, rendered with loose gestural lines and smoky tonal shading. The composition captures the movement and weight of the body with confident draftsmanship, particularly through the back, shoulder line, and extended leg.

Executed in charcoal on warm paper, the drawing has the atmospheric quality typical of life-drawing studio work from the mid-20th century. The sketch retains visible construction lines and layered charcoal blocks, giving the piece a sculptural, almost abstracted depth while still reading clearly as a classical figure study.

Acquired from the estate of a Pasadena art curator.

Presented in a simple gallery frame with a wide white mat that beautifully offsets the warmth of the paper and the dark charcoal lines. The scale makes it a strong statement piece for modern, organic modern, or mid-century interiors.

A striking decorative work that reads both academic and contemporary, perfect for collectors of figurative drawing or for styling in modern organic and modern mid century interiors.
