A velvety monkshood is enlarged and zoomed in for a dynamic composition. This painting by Allison Cosmos lets us appreciate the form and shape of the monkshood bloom. Popping off the rich graphite charcoal gray background, the purple wildflower makes an eye catching statement. Monkshood is also known as "wolf's bane"

Acrylic on canvas, this original 24'' X 30'' painting is signed by the artist. Stretched and ready to take to your favorite local framer, the artist created a set of 10 of these mountain wildflowers. Other flower paintings in this series include prairie smoke, pasque, fireweed, Indian paintbrush, columbine, lupine, glacier lily, scarlet gilia and shooting star blooms. Mix and match, stack, or display them side by side.
