Made of Hetian white jade with fine and mild texture. It adopts a waist-contracted shape, flaring at both top and bottom rims and narrowing in the middle. The outer surface is shallow-relief carved with landscape and figure scene, including pavilions, trees, rocks and characters. The composition is elegant with smooth and gentle lines, typical shallow relief carving craft of Qing Dynasty. The jade bears soft aged patina and minor natural wear marks over time, the inner and outer walls are finely polished. Originally an archery accessory in Qing, the thumb ring gradually became a literati ornament. This carved example is a fine artwork, combining practical function, antique appreciation and jade carving artistic value.
