Description
A striking vintage work by American realist artist Harold Bruder (1930-), titled "The Temple: View of the Holy City, 1970-72," featuring an evocative architectural composition overlooking Jerusalem.
The artwork depicts four elegantly draped figures gathered beside monumental classical columns, with the ancient Holy City unfolding in the distance. Soft shades of dusty rose, pale blue, ivory, ochre, and muted earth tones create an atmospheric composition with remarkable architectural detail.
The print is personally pencil-signed and dated '73 by Harold Bruder along the lower right margin of the artwork itself, separate from the surrounding matting.
Of particular interest is the original exhibition label preserved on the reverse, documenting Harold Bruder's November 11-30, 1972 exhibition at the prestigious Forum Gallery, formerly located at 1018 Madison Avenue, New York City. This surviving gallery documentation provides a compelling connection to the artist's early New York exhibition history.
Presented in a substantial textured gold-tone frame with wide dusty mauve matting, creating a distinctive vintage 1970s presentation. The artwork's classical architectural subject and understated palette lend themselves beautifully to traditional, collected, and eclectic interiors.
