Art Deco "Bell of the Ball" Chrome & Wood Bell Cocktail Shaker-15th Anniversary Presentation, 1946

Dimensions: 11" H x 6" Diameter; Handle Height: 6"

This delightful mid-century cocktail shaker is a clever novelty barware piece designed in the form of a classic school bell, known as the "Bell of the Ball." Crafted from polished chrome with a turned wood handle and domed finial, this shaker opens to reveal a fully integrated three-piece cocktail system, including a pierced strainer and stirring/ringing rod.

Engraved on the front is a personalized inscription:

"Presented to Mrs. George F. Prestwich / HSTh / 15th Anniversary / November, 1946"

This likely commemorates the 15th anniversary of a local or regional women's group, with the Greek letters possibly representing a private sorority or social club.

Charming and functional, this shaker reflects the novelty and optimism of postwar American design, where even barware blended humor with elegance. Its bell-shaped form and engraved presentation make it a standout piece for collectors of vintage bar accessories, chrome objects, or Americana.

Excellent vintage condition with light wear consistent with age and use. The shaker stands 11 inches tall with a 6-inch base diameter; the wood handle rises 6 inches above the bell, giving it a stately and sculptural profile.
