Original pastel on paper by Henry Emil Salloch, also known as Heinz Emil
Salloch, the German-born American artist and graphic designer who emigrated to the United
States in 1937. This unframed work depicts a moody nocturnal colonial-style village street dominated by a striking mukti-tired tower in a bold cubist-Expressionist style. Signed at the bottom right and dated 1962.
The sheet measures approximately 24'' X 20''. Condition is vintage and unrestored, with
scattered foxing. Sold unframed.
A strong example of Salloch's mid-century landscape work, with fluid ink line and transparent
watercolor washes.
