NEW YORK – On Friday, March 29, beginning at 8 pm Eastern time, Jasper52 will conduct a sale titled Sparkling Splendor: Exquisite Jewelry Auction, featuring more than 200 lots of brooches, pins, bangle bracelets, necklaces, rings, earrings, and other pieces by renowned designers and houses. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.

Precious metals are fundamental to all forms of jewelry, but few are more beloved than gold in its original color, yellow. The three highlights of this sale all showcase 18K gold.

First among them is a large Tiffany & Co. 18K gold pin or brooch, taking the form of an orchid or a calla lily. It dates to the 1950s, comes with a Tiffany & Co. pouch and box, and is estimated at $5,000-$6,000.

Adding power and ferocity as well as elegance to an outfit is a vintage 18K gold, emerald, ruby, and diamond lioness bangle bracelet by the Greek designer Ilias Lalaounis. It sports 88 emeralds, 22 diamonds, and four rubies in total, and it is estimated at $16,000-$19,000.

Certain to elevate any wardrobe is a vintage Mario Buccellati 18K gold wide cuff bracelet. It weighs in at slightly more than two ounces and sports a pattern of rippling chevrons, and has an estimate of $20,000-$24,000.

NEW YORK – A vintage pin in the form of a jackrabbit, a colored diamond in a platinum ring setting, and a pair of Garavelli clip earrings will jockey for top-lot status at Jasper52’s Gems and Glamour: Fine Jewelry and Stones sale, which will be held on Tuesday, December 19, starting at 4 pm Eastern time. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.

The jackrabbit pin employs a natural South Sea pearl as the creature’s belly, and crafts the rest of its body from 18K yellow and white gold, .20 carats’ worth of natural round sapphires, and 1.10 carats of natural diamonds that possess H color and Si1 clarity. It carries an estimate of $5,000-$6,000.

The radiant-cut colored diamond at the center of the platinum ring setting weighs 3.12 carats, sports brown, green and yellow hues, and is attended by an additional carat’s worth of diamonds in marquise and baguette cuts. A GIA report is available for the colored diamond. The ring, which is size 6.5, is estimated at $62,000-$74,000.

Completing the highlights is a pair of clip earrings by Garavelli that feature 26 carats of natural green amethysts with .60 of a cart of brown diamonds, set in 18K gold. The estimate for the earrings is $5,000-$6,000.

NEW YORK – Breathtaking pieces by Hermès, David Webb and a host of other jewelry design wizards will compete for top-lot status at Jasper52’s Contemporary Treasures: Jewelry Auction, which will be presented on Friday, October 13, starting at 8 pm Eastern time. The 377-lot sale boasts a rich parade of treasures from the likes of Bulgari, Cartier, Graff, De Grisogono, Chopard, Roberto Coin, Carrera y Carrera, and Chaumet, to name just a few. The chosen highlights are something else again, however. They include two pieces by Hermès and one by David Webb.

First up is a supremely elegant Hermès 18K gold, diamond and malachite swan brooch, estimated at $8,000-$10,000 and described as ‘vintage.’

Also from Hermès is an 18K rose gold and diamond Alchimie bracelet, estimated at $101,000-$121,000. The piece, which references several of the French house’s most iconic motifs, features 4.71 carats of diamonds. Though it is singular, its design gives the impression that the wearer has donned a set of matching bracelets.

Completing the highlights is a frog brooch by David Webb, rendered in 18K gold, platinum, diamond, ruby and enamel. Dating to the 1960s, it is estimated at $13,000-$16,000.
