CHICAGO – An Art Deco pendant by Cartier led Hindman’s May 16 Important Jewelry auction, realizing $100,800 against an estimate of $10,000-$20,000. The pendant was among a collection of Cartier jewelry, curated from estates across the country, which achieved strong results. Overall, the sale realized $3,689,973, with 67% of lots selling within the estimate or above the high estimate.

DALLAS — A diamond and platinum ring sold for $225,000 in Heritage Auctions‘ Spring Fine Jewelry Signature® Auction on May 8, helping lead the event to a total of $5,135,765. The ring, which surpassed its high estimate, featured a 5.02-carat emerald-cut diamond. Also shattering expectations was a 13.87-carat Madagascar sapphire that realized $200,000, more than five times its low estimate.
