Description
Revolutionary War Powder Horn,Signed, Yorktown, VA 1778: Highly engraved priming horn with details of Yorktown buildings, including the Courthouse, and inscribed J. Willson V. Art. 1778, York" Horn measures approx. 7" in length and has a wooden plug at base with hand forged nail. Carving may have been inked later to highlight the buildings. There are no known illustrations of Yorktown's colonial courthouse, making this horn perhaps the only extant view. See Edward M.
