Description
Silver and gilded silver chalice. Neo-Gothic style. It rests on a multi-lobed base whose edge is decorated with a frieze of arcatures. The base, highlighted with a band of intertwined leaves, receives three medallions with six redentate lobes representing the Virgin Mary, Christ crucified and Christ in majesty. Tubular stem with collar, strewn with chiseled acanthus leaves. Bow is in a toric shape with threads, decorated with wrapped acanthus leaves, it bears the Latin inscription: “Ego sum/(…)/Palmiras”. The ornament of the false cup takes up the floral motifs represented on the base of the chalice. The cup is golden. The base is fitted with a gilded bronze disc.
