Pre-Columbian, Northern Mexico, Chihuahua region, Casas Grandes culture, ca. 1100 to 1450 CE. A hand-built pottery vessel in the shape of 2 birds, each exhibiting a protruding head and breast, a single wing adorned in geometric motifs, and a tab-shaped tail on the verso, all illustrated with black and red pigment atop the beige-hued ground. Size: 8.1" L x 6.8" W x 5.125" H (20.6 cm x 17.3 cm x 13 cm)
