The first letter of seven handwritten pages is from 1914 and finds him in Avalon on Santa Catalina Island in California. He talks about being homesick and that he has plenty of material to write once he gets back home and signs the letter "Pearl". The second letter is of six typed pages from Watson's Bay in Sydney, Australia in 1939. He let's her know that there is a humming in his head and has found out he has high blood pressure. He had seen a doctor and the doctor said that he could not over exert himself, no depression and no upsets. That is he followed doctor's order he can still go fishing at the Great Barrier. He then talks about the 1382 pound Tiger Shark that Lyle caught and is a world record. That they caught 12 big fish weighing over 5000 pounds.
