Description
A neat Roman miniature ceramic discus lamp, 1st Century AD, the discus deeply concave with small central fill-hole bordered by ridges and a band over vertical bars, the spout adorned with volutes and with a rounded nozzle. The bottom is flat with low ring foot. L: 2 3/4 in (7cm), D: 1 4/5 in (4.6cm). A very cute example with excellent detail and light deposits over traces of deep orange-brown slip.
