I am fairly new to the Live Auctioneers experience but I think that it is a great way to access and participate in a wide variety of auctions throughout the country. Because of my lack of experience (only two auctions so far) I am not sure if my impressions are fair. Regarding Baird Auctions, I would have appreciated a few more photographs and a more detailed description of many of the items they were offering, but that seems to be a rather common issue with many of the auctions I have looked at. I know it is the bidder's responsibility to ask questions or request more photos or better descriptions. However, I did think that Baird's list of Terms and Conditions was a bit confusing, especially the part that said all winning bids had to be paid for the same day the auction was held. When I called Baird after the auction (it was held on a Saturday afternoon and it was late that night on the east coast-I live in Virginia-when I was able to talk to somebody at Baird) I was told that somebody from Baird would call me on Monday. This turned out not to be the case and I had to call Baird to make payment arrangements. I was asked who I would like to have my item shipped by (UPS or FedEx) and I told them UPS. The person told me that I would be called later when the item was ready to be shipped so that final shipping arrangements and payment could be made but that too turned out to be untrue. I received a notice via e-mail that my item had been shipped via FedEx and that my account had been charged for the shipping and handling fees. The item arrived OK and undamaged, but because it had not been packed entirely properly part of the item (the tip of the hammer of the antique rifle I won) had worn through the packing and the shipping box and was protruding from the shipping box when I received delivery. As I said, there was no damage but it was a bit disconcerting. I hope this is helpful. Thank you.

Paid over $3, 000 for pre 1899 mfg, antique 1875 Remington revolver. It is illegal to require ffl for antiques mfg pre 1899, per federal, batf, and state law. auction house forced to require an FFL, which is ILLEGAL Havent heard from them in 7 days, and they will NOT respond to emails. Don't buy from this company. At this point they have stolen our money it seems

Seller said a lot I bought was sold in house which I didn't believe because of how low the amount I won it for was, if it would have been a equal amount of what the bidding was going by I would have believed it but it was completely different, I had no choice but to agree to cancel that which to me is unfair. when I bought the item they still didn't know who the shipper would because, because it was a firearm, then they charge my card the wrong amount but did refund me, it took them 4 different invoices to get it all correct. Only 2 pictures, did not even show major damage on the side of the stock.
