Great packaging, terrible product.
The two paintings arrived incredibly well-packaged, but they were worthless. Half the paint on one of them was gone, and the second had so many nails it was a hazard. They went straight to the trash.

The two $20 artworks you purchased were listed with “Losses to paint” and “Few minor dings to frame, wear consistent with age and display” in the condition description and were depicted as such in the multiple photographs listed in the catalog. It is the responsibility of every bidder to carefully review the item description, condition report, and all images before placing a bid. We understand how disappointing this must have been, especially after winning and paying for the item. To provide some additional context: We proactively notified you the day before the scheduled pickup that we were unable to locate the lot, with the goal of addressing the issue in advance and avoiding any surprises. Unfortunately, we did not receive a follow-up communication from your team until the shipper arrived on site. During that time, we promptly contacted you to explain that the sofa had been accidentally released to an incorrect shipper. We immediately initiated efforts to recover it and committed to keeping you fully updated on the progress. We also offered the alternative of a full refund should the recovery not meet your timeline or expectations. what you see is not always what you get
i ordered a barometer and in the photo there was a pointer in the photo when i received the item there was no pointer. As it was suggested i took the item apart and there was no pointer to be found. I wanted to return the item but was refused. The item is no good without a pointer

With all due respect, I kindly answered all questions asked through email from your assistant. Your first comment on your call was to tell me how rude I was, and that you can tell me how to be more pleasant. I apologize if I am not able to spend additional time taking more photographs of the items you purchased when we have already posted 17 images and that is how you value my politeness. I directed your assistant to review the photographs listed in our catalog. The reason I said goodbye and ended the call was due to your inability to allow me to answer your questions on the phone. You were unable to give me any time to speak and just kept repeating how rude I was. I am glad you were able to have a civil conversation with my husband. I will assume that because I am woman you were unable to show me the same respect. As you threatened to take your business elsewhere, I will also share my experience with other auction houses to protect them from your behavior and practices.

Responsive and Helpful
This was my 1st time using liveauctioneers, so I was worried about how the process would work. However, Westport eased all my concerns because from purchase to pickup, they were responsive, helpful, and kind. I messaged when I was 30 minutes out from their warehouse location and they immediately responded to let me know the time would be ready to meet me. Once we got there, there warehouse team was as promised, expecting me, and quick to help us get our items. I purchased 3 lots in total from them and cannot wait to do more business with them and their team again!

Professional and clear
My first time buying from Westport Auctions went well. Even though I am from out of state (Florida) their descriptions and auction instructions were easy to follow. I used one of the shippers on their recommended list and the whole transaction went smoothly.

Paid for item. Drove two hours. Then was told it takes 24 hours for them to release items.
Super unhelpful and rude. Ridiculous practice.

Ryan, I am sorry that your payment was declined on Live Auctioneers at the time of the auction and then went unpaid to the point of receiving a dispute for nonpayment. We appreciate that you did submit payment through Live Auctioneers however our terms state that it does take at least 24 hours for funds to settle through Live Auctioneers. We also ask buyers to schedule their arrival with us which allows for us to confirm payment has been received and the items are ready for pickup. You chose to pay for your item then drive down without any notification to us. We certainly would have let you know the payment was not received, and your items are not ready, so please do not drive down. We really encourage all of our buyers to read the terms, so time is not wasted, and we are not accused of Ridiculous practices.
