Galerie Zacke, founded in 1968, is a family-owned auction house, art gallery and publisher of art-related books. The auction house focuses on Chinese, Japanese and Buddhist art. It occasinally also holds estate auctions with antiques and collectibles from European countries. In it's 50-year history, the company has held over 1.000 auctions and 200 art exhibitions.

This auction unites three distinct provenances shaped by long-standing dedication to art, culture, and scholarship. The collection of Paolo Bertuzzi, a Bolognese fashion stylist and lifelong collector, offers a selection defined by refined connoisseurship informed by haute couture and academic study, spanning works from archaic to contemporary traditions. Complementing it is the collection of Philippe Icher, an artist and traveler whose long engagement with the Himalayan world produced a deeply personal group of ritual objects, ornaments, and tools of everyday beauty gathered through lived experience and spiritual encounter. The third provenance traces to the early foundations of The National Museum of the Philippines, reflecting more than a century of institutional commitment to preserving, studying, and transmitting cultural heritage.

Very flexible and easy to deal with
I have won several lots in Galerie Zacke auctions and have always found them to be very helpful. They were the first overseas auctioneer I had ever dealt with and they helped me navigate international payments and regulations, going beyond what I expected, even cautioning me because of US laws concerning certain materials, notably ivory, and the delays and costs of importing objects carved from it. Beyond that, their catalogs are works of art. The descriptions and pictures are wonderful. I have enjoyed all my contacts with them and am very happy with all the lots I have won.
