does not assist with shipping, even on smallest items
I bid on and won 2 books at auction. The total cost for the books was $40. One was a tabletop coffee book, the other one was no bigger than a textbook. Contacted seller several times regarding having him ship them for me, got a pre-filled response referring me to local UPS office and other shippers. The local UPS office came by and picked up with other items they were picking up and charged me $52 to ship 2 books. You read that right, more than the cost of purchase the books!! Definitely no insurance involved. I have dealt with heritage auction Christie's Sotheby's and eBay a million times and never once dealt with these kind of exorbitant shipping costs nor seen a seller so incredibly unwilling to help with those especially with an item that cost less than the shipping. I can assure you I will read the fine print more closely but I will never buy from this seller again.

Sold a counterfeit watch in a lot of watches.
While the listing says that the buyer should call ahead with any questions about the lot, and should know what he/she is getting into, I did not expect for the lot to include a fake watch.

Easy & pleasant process.
I wasn’t able to attend the auction in person, so I left a bid online. The entire process was easy and afterward, everyone I dealt with on the staff was helpful and friendly. I will definitely participate in the Thos. Cornell Galleries auctions in the future.

Professional in Every W
You can absolutely tell that Thomas Cornell is a seasoned professional. This option could not have gone more smoothly, and the descriptions could not have been more accurate. Everything was professionally photographed. I'm looking forward to his next auction!

Out of town buyer-deceptive photos
Disappointed in public photos. The bottom drawer looked good in photo. Bottom severely damaged (parts), The pick-up driver sent pictures prior to shipping. He asked "did you know" It was too late for refund. very deceptive.

Easy Auction Purchase, UPS Shipping a Bit Too High
Auction house did a fine job but using one of their recommended shippers (UPS) was a costly endeavor. Next time will try another shipper for a better rate.

the service was efficient and shipping was quick. The object was not well described: was newly cast

Lesson Learned
When a company is not willing to tell you right up front that something is WAY below being of any worth. Buyer beware, Don't bother to bid. I sent an email requesting description, as instructed, no response. Only to find it was not only chipped but poorly glued back together.

We are regretful that the repair was not seen or pointed out by any of the staff before the auction as we try to include any obvious problems within the item description. If we find that the item is very badly damaged we will not include it in the sale at all and would not hesitate to remove it from the sale completely. Please know that we have searched through our emails and have not found any communication from you re: the lot you purchased or any other lot. In the future please call the gallery for information. It is the most efficient way to reach us.
