Very good auction and payment procedures. Shipping leaves a little to be desired, since the auction does not do the shipping.

I am very disappointed with Dargate. After photographing a pair of chairs for the catalog, they broke the backsplat of one of the chairs and reglued it in a shoddy manner. They did not re-photograph the chairs. I thought I was buying the pair as photographed. What I received was one good chair and one very damaged chair. Not only have I lost value in the chairs, but I wasted over $300 in shipping.

I still haven't paid for the lot, because no one answers my emails. I have money on PayPal, in a Bank account, but I do not know how to send them to the seller, and he is silent. Poor communication.

Dargate listed my item incorrectly. It was listed as being an iris but, was a lily. The shipping cost more than the item and, after several emails, got to me a month later. I will not buy from Dargate again.

Purchassed a antique marble clock and had it picked up and shipped UPS. Item arrived broken and chipped. Both shipper and auction house denied any responsibility. UPS offered to cover the purchase price but not the $130.00 shipping to CA. They will cover only the purchase price of $65.00 but I have to surrender the item. As It is worth more that the purchase price, I will have to reconstruct the clock and so to say "bite the bullet". Thanks UPS. I had another instance similar to this and I had to take them to arbitratin to receive the insurance. Thanks UPS.

I had never purchased from Dargate before this transaction. I phoned Dargate to make sure that I knew how to have my item shipped to me. The woman with who I spoke was rude, abrupt, and completely unhelpful. She gave me the impression that I was bothering her by asking my questions. I will NEVER participate in another auction if I see the name Dargate associated with it.

From the very clear description and sharp photographs to the easy on-line check-out to the very competitive shipping quotes from one of their associate companies, Dargate has shown themselves to be at the top of their game. Looking forward to the next auction!

One shipper had a high quote, the second then DOUBLED the price AFTER picking up items. Claimed TRAY was so big it doubled cost. I have accounts with UPS and NEVER pay these prices. DONE bidding with DARGATE. too bad items are always nice. THESE auction houses need to do IN HOUSE SHIPPING! Their contracted shippers are Greedy and overpriced and costing them bidders.

The recommended UPS store took over 1 month to ship this item. They were REALLY bad to deal with.

Asked via phone (twice) for additional photo's and info... promised but never delivered. Arranged for a telephone bid... never happened. Among their recommended shipper's list ~ contacted four that they listed, only two responded with estimates.

Post auction it was a bit tedious contacting Dargate, it took a couple of days, and making payment wasn't as smooth as it could have been. Jean at Dargate suggested several shipping companies, of which I choose UPS on the college campus. That's another story, Nick was the contact at this UPS store. He and the staff were not responsive to my inquiries about getting my item shipped or providing shipment status ie. tracking number. I was very surprised when my package arrived, no one advised me the item was shipped or the tracking number.
