The department will debut with its first Fine & Vintage Watches sale on Friday, 30 January 2026, held in our central London showrooms. The inaugural auction will present 100 carefully curated watches, the majority vintage, showcasing an exceptional range of styles, periods, and horological traditions. From elegant dress watches to robust tool and collector models, the selection has been assembled to appeal to both seasoned collectors and discerning new buyers, offering quality, variety, and strong market relevance. This first sale sets the foundation for a regular programme of watch auctions, establishing London as a key platform for collectors seeking authenticity, connoisseurship, and long-term value in fine timepieces.
FINE ANCIENT JEWELLERY - PRINCE COLLECTION
Important Ancient Jewellery Sale Following a year marked by growing interest in precious metals and the wider jewellery market, Apollo Art Auctions is delighted to begin the New Year with a sale of historically significant works: Important Ancient Jewellery. This remarkable auction brings together nearly 500 lots, crafted with gold, silver, and other precious metals, gems jewellery and inlays. Spanning over three millennia of history it ranges from the early Bronze Age to the Late Medieval Period, celebrating the intricate craftsmanship of ancient jewellery. The auction presents an exceptional selection of well provenanced pieces, highlighted by notable examples from the Prince Collection, distinguished by its royal associations, the Nolte collection, which held an exceptional selection of Phoenician beads, and the Groppi Collection, one of the most important private collections of ancient Egyptian glass of its time. With more than 70 jewels being published and studied in New York in the early 1990’s by Dr. Jack Ogden, accompanied by the original scholarly publications, offering a rare opportunity to acquire works of established academic importance and rarity. FINE ANCIENT ART - THE PRINCE COLLECTION
A continuation of important sales, Apollo Art Auctions presents an outstanding assemblage of over 500 lots of ancient art and antiquities, featuring one of the strongest and diverse sales to date: Important Ancient Art & Antiquities. The auction holds impressive proevanances comprising of pieces coming from the Prince Collection, distinguished by its royal associations, the Leo Mildenberg Collection, a prominent German numismatist and antiquities collector, Arther M. Sackeler (1913 - 1987), a major collector known for his collection of ancient art from the Near East and South Asia, Jean Marais (1913 - 1998), a well known French actor and artist, John Kluge (1914 - 2010), art collector and philanthropist who held a significant collection of Classical antiquities, and Emile Brugsch (1842 - 1930), a German Egyptologist known for having found the tomb of Djer, which the Egyptians believed was the tomb of Osiris. Featuring an excellent selection of Egyptian antiquities followed by exceptional Roman marbles, each accompanied by authentication reports.
