Though I was very pleased with the payment and shipping, I found their descriptions to be misleading. If you have any questions, you must ask them. I would not do business with this auction gallery again without many additional photos and answers to questions.

They pack their books really well. Shipment is timely, not bad at all. Shipment cost is not so bad.

The pictures matched the items I purchased and descriptions were excellent. The payment process was smooth and items shipped very quickly. Thevitems were well packed and shipping costs were well within reason for the books I purchased. Will definitely look to this seller for auctions in the future.

I purchased a large lot of books. Each book was in either as good or better condition than I thought from the photos online. They were carefully and individually packed with care. I had contacted the gallery for the price of shipping beforehand and they got back to me quickly and were helpful and honest about the costs involved. I can not recommend PBA Galleries highly enough.

They were very responsive to all my emails but seem a little disorganized. Both times I have dealt with them they have not sent out the invoice within a week after the lot closed and they said 'check your spam'. I checked. The invoices were never sent. So that is a quibble which they corrected immediately. In general they were very communicative and responsive and fair with shipping. The packaging was excellent. One further quibble is that their descriptions leave out minor defects. For instance on this Hemingway item there were some kind of worm damage to the edge of the pages (about 10 pages) that they neglected to mention as well as a bookplate on the rear pastedown and an owners inscription on the front (neither was noted in description and only the former in the photos). In general they seem in a little bit of a rush and are overlooking details like, actually billing you, etc.

I love the fact that PBA Galleries does in-house shipping and at a reasonable cost. I am so tired of surprises in other auction houses, where the shipping fees often are exorbitant and the time to get one's item is greatly slowed by the out-of-house shippers.

PBA offers an interesting selection with fine editions, rare volumes, and has depth of subjects not just a single volume. PBA has many years in book selling and their experience truly benefits the buyer.

Quite satisfied. A mail or message notifying me when the books were dispatched would have been nice, but in this case the books arrived so relatively quickly that it didn’t matter so much.
