There were numerous issues with condition. The way the items were staged in the photo mysteriously hid a chip on the Breininger plate. The largest and most valuable charger was cracked most of the way through. The sgrafito dog had all 4 legs broken and reglued. I questioned this when I picked up the items in person and the "Condition Expert" knew about that already. My company and I will never do business with them again. I would suggest you look for higher quality merchandise elsewhere.

The items that you purchased did have some condition issues, which is not uncommon when purchasing objects at auction: they’ve had a life before they were consigned to us for sale. That is why, as a courtesy to buyers, we conduct condition reports upon request, including photos, when a potential buyer requests it. We realize that you are disappointed with your purchase, but our terms and conditions clearly state that it’s up to the buyer to make a full inspection of the property prior to bidding, which includes requesting condition reports when you are not able to inspect the property in person. Please rest assured that we do not try to hide condition issues. Mixed interactions with Freeman's
Having paid them directly after winning items in an auction I wrote asking about shipping. They referred me to a company (who did excellent work) but then wouldn't release the two lots I won. I contacted them after speaking with the shippers. They had inadvertently "missed" my payment in their PayPal account. But in speaking with me, they assumed I had not paid and that the error was all on my end. I received a perfunctory 'sorry' in an email, but after holding up shipment for two weeks they could have accepted more responsibility for their mistake and their unprofessional attitude.

Inconvenient
This was my first experience with Live Auctioneers, who led me to Freeman’s. A truly awful experience. Olivia, from Freeman’s, was very helpful and professional, which was the saving grace of this experience. First, I was billed twice and paid twice. Olivia quickly refunded my money. Second, Freeman’s does not ship your items. You ship them yourself. I have never heard of such a thing. The directions were not obvious or clear, so here it is two weeks after the auction and I am left wondering where my photograph is. I would never recommend this company.

You responded by acknowledging that you had made the payment twice due to issues on your end and you thanked our client services representative for refunding the money. Great service, no credit cards
This was smooth but for the payment, which I played 25 dollars for a wire transfer to get it quicker, I didn't get it any sooner. Shipping was outrageous through their recommended shipper, try someone else (over 100 dollars for a foot by foot box that hardly weighed anything.

Get your shipping quote before you bid.
Freeman's get wonderful lots in their auctions. Communications were not good, but they may have been short staffed because of Covid-19. CAUTION: Get your shipping quote before you bid. I asked 8 shipping company's for a shipping quote, only 3 responded. All 3 wanted 2 times + the amount of normal shipping from any other auction city in the U. S. Covid-19??

Good Auctioneer but shipping is from others and expensive
the item was as described and the auction was fine. Shipping is a bit of a hassel-multiple different people handle billing and shipping information. They use off-site shipping companies and shipping the item was horribly expensive for a lightweight item. Much more than with some auctions. My small item was well wrapped, put in a jewelry box, then boxed with foam "peanuts", then boxed again with more foam peanuts and weighted with 2 pieces of 2X4 lumber about 8 inches long. Then shipped. They really need to find other shipping options.

Condition
Condition report states that lot in excellent condition with original box and original interior foam. The Daum vase arrived with 2 large chips 1.25”-1.5” in the box without original protective foam. The Freeman’s representative told me that Condition Report wasn’t accurate and agreed to take the lot back for full refund. The lot was picked up by the same shipper.
