Stole my money and will not respond.
Let me tell you about my only interaction with these scum bags. I won 2 items, both uncut currency sheets. The auction ended May 5, and the items were shipped well over three weeks later. I got a shipping notice 23 days after winning. Two days later I got an email saying one of the items was removed from my account. After shipping! Now it shows as “Lot Passed.” Let that sink in. I won the item, they said they shipped it, and then they stole it back. They kept the buyer’s premium for both lots, kept the tax and shipping as though it were both lots they were calculating. The item they shipped was $120. They charged me $21.04 California tax (California is 7.25 % so the total tax should have been $8.70) $50.50 buyers ’ premium, and $48 for shipping. Absolute theft. I got the same reply others have about how pathetic their “small family business” is. They believe this is good enough reason for this kind of deception. DO NOT do business with these thieves. I have spent over $250K at Live Auctioneers across dozens of Auction Houses. This is by far the worst Auction House out there. Buyer beware. I’m going to do the best I can and let potential bidders know about this “small family business” that never answers the phone, takes days to respond with canned answers that appear to be written by a simpleton, and how they conduct their deceptive business. I’ve secured a URL and am going to set up a website that will rank higher than their auction house when searched for. I am an expert internet ad writer and developer. My web properties rank high across all search platforms. I am going to warn the world about this filth. Live Auctioneers has been alerted and they have been week and pathetic with their "help." I receive nothing but lip service from them and my eyes are now open to how useless they are at resolving issues.

Item I received did not match description or photos. Can’t seem to get help to correct the issue. Unable to reach Golden Gate Auctioneer (seller) by phone and no response to my messages. Took money right away but now no help or advice about receiving the wrong item.

Be Advised-waste of money
be careful, the auction house hold NO responsibility for the quality of the items they sell. The ring I purchased had cracked stones.

Hi Antonnio, thank you for your review. Yes, our processing time is 2-3 weeks, as mentioned in our terms and conditions. Also mentioned is that larger value invoices have a longer processing time as we wait for payment to clear from Live Auctioneers to our auction house. We're a smaller, family owned auction house compared to the others on the site. While we are working on our processing times, we are glad to hear you like your winning item! Hope to see you in a future auction.-Steven

Unethical processing time and unacceptable customer service
I need for someone from GOLDEN GATE AUCTIONEER to call me back, this is unacceptable, Im going on 8 weeks since my bid won and my item hasn’t even been shipped, two weeks ago I received a reply saying that my item was going to be shipped last week, and that never happened, additionally there’s no communication from GOLDEN GATE AUCTIONEERS, at this point I’m am furious, I’ve emailed and texted GOLDEN GATE AUCTIONEER several times, an all I get is a scripted A. I. like response saying that GOLDEN GATE AUCTIONEER is running behind, it’s stated on the site that shipping is 2-3 weeks and it might take more for unforeseen circumstances, 8 weeks is not ok, GOLDEN GATE AUCTIONEER actions are unethical, needless to say, this complaint will make it to the BBB, and me being an avid numismatist, I’ll share this complaint with all my contacts, I’ll share this with the AMERICAN NUMISMATISTS ASSOCIATION (ANA), additionally I will contact my credit card to inform them of the situation, and seek legal advise if necessary.

Better not expect your won item anytime soon
As I write this, it has been 5 weeks since I have paid over $5, 000 for an item won at an online auction. I've reached out numerous times and the lack of response is inexcusable. LA even stepped in and still timely updates, or any updates, are almost nonexistent. I even called the contact number and the greeting message says it's not a routinely monitored message account! You would think we as the bidders, the ones who pay all of the money for these items, could at least get "average" customer service or a sense that they even care when issues like these arise. Unfortunately, GGA does not seem to be interested in following through with the customer. I will never bid through them or any of their associated auction houses again.

Did Not Receive the Coin Advertised
I bid on a particular NGC cert coin after looking up valve and information based on the cert number advertised. I assumed that I would receive the coin with this cert number advertised after winning. Before receiving my coin, which was not the NGC cert number presented, I received an alert/notice that a coin with the SAME NGC number I won would be offered up for auction in a few days 'time. I was told it was a duplicate notice and would be taken down. That did not happen and in fact the coin was resold under the same NGC cert number on the date noticed. At a minimum suspicious. I would not use the Golden Gate Auctioneer again and cannot recommend them.

I did not get what I bid on!
They listed an image of multiple coins. The listing said you were bidding on "Coins of the Ancient Greek City States AE Units (450-100 BC) VF". However I received a single poor quality coin. When I inquired they said that my winning bid wasn't high enough so they sent one coin. Not only that, they took weeks to bother to ship it, probably hoping I'd forget what I bid on. I give this auction house zero stars. This is NOT how auctions work. They are extremely unresponsive.

Hi Benjamin, thank you for your review. For the lot weight that was listed in the description, this was for ONE coin, not multiple. This was not based on the lot price. I see we've initiated a return for you. For future auction, if you have any questions on the WEIGHT of an item, please reach out!
