Buyers Beware!! Outrageously high shipping charge. Charged 10 times the value of what I purchased with no recourse as they won’t allow other shipping companies. Decades in this business and never had such a bad experience. Read the reviews, many complain about the same.

This item came in perfect condition and is a nice addition to the shelf.

I purchased a large grouping of glass. One of the items was received broken. They were quick to respond and quickly made it right. That says a lot right there. I would definitely do business with them again.

Gouges with extortionate shipping costs (see other reviews). Harrasses customers with threats for suing for libel for reviews. Attempts blackmail by offering to send items for free if you'll delete negative reviews. Got negative reviews deleted anyway (I'm reposting and contacting LiveAuctioneers to see why they deleted the review when it did not violate their guidelines).

What you see and what item is described is exactly what you get. Billing is prompt as well a shipping received timely. Love the expediency of this auction house.

The piece I purchased was larger and better than I expected. It is a dinner plate or charger size not a salad plate size. I made the mistake of not looking at the "location of the auction house" and panicked when I received the bill. This piece arrived in just a few days. From England with Vat tax and Customs charges Fedex seems to be the most reliable. The piece was superbly packed and had no damage. Plenty of bubble wrap and popcorn. I would buy again from this auction house but make sure I factor in shipping charges form outside of the USA. Live Auctioneers was also very helpfull. Their merchandize is in perfect shape as was the entire process. Five Stars ****************

We never obtained posession of these items as Albinus (after acknowledging full payment had been received) refused to send them until we confirmed to them that we would not leave a bad review. Our initial concern we had raised with them was that 75 % of the items we bid on (across 2 seperate auctions) had higher bids placed on them which were then cancelled at the last moment, which seemed suspiciously like a scheme to inflate prices. Of course Albinus would not admit any wrongdoing, but instead refused to send the items and sent 6 emails to my wife over 2 weeks designed to intimidate and extract a 'confirmation of no bad reviews' even issuing a deadline by which the confirmation was to be received. At this point our suspicions of unethical practices were confirmed and after a quick google we found a long history of complaints, including a court ruling against the proprietor of Albinus (from his days of running multiple shops/accounts on ebay). Interesting also that Albinus Ltd seems to be registered as a dormant company but is trading nevertheless.

Albinus is without doubt a great auction house providing quality antiques and collectables for all tastes. Very happy with this glass vase.

A warning to those considering purchasing from Albinus Ltd. Publicly available information would indicate that its proprietor honed his business practices through defrauding people on eBay.  

If you bid on a lot of auctions as I do it gets confusing when I have to contact third parties to handle the shipping. This one handles in-house!

First time bidding at Albinus Auctions and everything was Super from ease of bidding, ease of paying online and getting the item shipped in-house. A seamless transaction.

On a $50 6.5 cm item that weighed less than 4 oz, it cost me over $200 for shipping and handling. $45 for packaging/handling for the worst packing job I have ever seen. Would only use Fedex International which cost over $150, rather than Royal Air Mail. Total cost for a $50 item was over $250. Read their other reviews, they are evidently getting away with this. They should at least post their crazy handling charge and that they only use Fedex International. I will never buy from them again and suggest you don’t. Dr G

Find someone else! I should have read the reviews and took the hints. Paid more in shipping than I did for the piece. Seemed like it was an inconvenience when I emailed and tried to talk with anyone.

I was charged $145 to ship a 3-inch creamer. That is what others charge to ship a large tureen or stack of plates. It survived in a flimsy oversized box that was crushed. A problem with customs documents required pickup from the shipping office four cities away rather than delivery. I will never place another bid with them again.

I won a 1 to 2 inch paperweight. When it came to shipping, the auction house quoted me over 150 $to ship to the U. S. which was 3 times the purchase price. I told them to keep the item and my payment. They stated they could not do that and I had to pay for shipping even if I did not want the item! When the package arrived, the 1inch item was wrapped in a small amount of bubble wrap and placed loose with no supporting packing material in an otherwise empty12 inch box. It bounced around in this box from the U. K. to California.... for shipping of more than $150!!!! They were rude and unprofessional but the packaging took the cake!! Unbelievable. I strongly advise against purchasing anything from these people.

I really should've paid attention to the dimensions on this. They should have a photo displaying the size. This charm, which I bid $50 on, won the bid, then was charged $243. I asked why and they said shipping, etc. I said I still wanted it but then it came and I was so disappointed. Will not put it my my charm bracelet. Money out of the win
