In 1998, Propstore founder Stephen Lane's love for movies led him to begin hunting for the same props and costumes that were used to create his favourite films. He found that he could not only provide collectors with access to their most coveted pieces, but also establish archival standards for this new, pop-culture hybrid of fine art and memorabilia collecting-prop art. Once Stephen assembled his dream team of like-minded movie fanatics, Propstore set out like a band of movie archaeologists, looking to locate, research and preserve the treasure troves of important artifacts that hid in dark, sometimes forgotten corners all over the world. Now, more than 25 years later, the prop hobby and Propstore are thriving. With over seventy employees between our offices in London and Los Angeles and over 25,000 combined square feet of archived props and costumes, we've become the busiest and most trusted authority in the hobby.

Shipping Timeline
They offer great Products and have really unique items but the shipping timeline is shocking. Items bought and paid for nearly a month to two months ago are still not shipped, with no timetable beyond hoping they will be shipped.

Beware Propstore-their listings are grossly inaccurate
Propstore's photo and description of the vintage poster they sold me doesn't match the actual poster I received. Specifically, the photo on LIVEAUCTIONEERS shows a near perfect poster which doesn't accurately reflect the poor quality of the restoration where every single fold line is incorrectly retouched and fails to match the background color. Additionally they misrepresent the poor workmanship of this restoration work by describing it as 'careful light touch ups' rather than being more honest about the color mismatches. When contacted, PROPSTORE claims that their photo misrepresents the poster because LIVEAUCTIONEERS compressed the actual photo they submitted. They make no excuse for the inaccurate text description and lean on the "VERY FINE" to capture the defects-but that rating is grossly inadequate. According to CHAT GPT5: “Very Fine” implies near-excellent appearance with only minor, non-distracting issues. If a poster has incorrect/poor retouching (mismatched colors, heavy overpaint, halos, etc.), that typically knocks it below Very Fine, even if it’s been linen-backed. Use a grade that reflects both condition and the quality of restoration, and say it plainly. Examples you can copy: Fine (restored): amateur/incorrect in-painting with color mismatch along borders and fold lines; visible on close inspection. Very Good to Fine (restored): overpaint and touch-ups present; restoration noticeable in the [ area ]; presents well at normal viewing distance. Good to Very Good (restored): extensive overpainting/uneven toning; restoration is visually distracting. If you want the safest phrasing (used by many dealers/auction houses): “Restored (linen-backed). Amateur in-painting and color mismatch in [ areas ]. Presents as Fine at a distance, graded VG due to restoration quality.”

Propstore mishandled my bids and would not correct during auction
I bid on two items. 1 of them while item was on auction block and the other before. In both cases I had the highest bid and supposedly won the items. I later find out they did not allow either bid. They allowed someone else to bid the same amount I previously had, which forced me to raise my bid next level to win. Other item I won and they allowed a lesser bid to win. I called them during the auction and they refused to rebid either during the auction to help resolve the issue fairly.
