North American Pen Auctions LTD

We run dedicated auctions of modern and vintage writing instruments. Our specialist knowledge comes from over two decades of experience with pens and a lifetime of relationships with fountain pen collectors and dealers.
In addition to our dedicated auctions, North American Pen Auctions Ltd. also offers appraisal services for estates and collectors, and guidance on collection dispersal.
Our passion for writing instruments started early. My father had an interest in fountain pens and he often wrote with one at his desk. When he learned about the Toronto Pen Show in the mid-1990s, I went with him, and proudly purchased my first vintage fountain pen for far more money than my mom could ever imagine. I have been actively involved in this field ever since.
When I started collecting, reference books and word of mouth were the only ways that you could build a collection and knowledge of the subject. The internet and the emergence of online auctions and collecting communities changed everything. Collecting became international. Being part of the international community of pen collectors has introduced me to people and places across the United States and around the world.
The fountain pen community is one like no other and I look forward to continuing to be a part of it.
Whether you have a single fountain pen or an entire collection, we can advise on value and assist you with finding the best market. Please contact us.

Smooth transaction on some uncommon pens
No complaints and many thanks to North American Pen Auctions. They sent the pens quickly, from Canada to the US with no problems. I won some interesting pens that I have enjoyed greatly. They accurately describe the quality of the items in the lot as well, and I accurately expected some of these pens to be fit for restoration, thanks to the photos and description.

You know what you're getting, and he makes it easy.
Two things made this auction a good experience for me. First, it's a pen guy writing the descriptions. He knows what the significant flaws are, and he tells you. Normally with vintage pens you're buying a pig in a poke and don't know what to expect when the package arrives. You get to find the cracked cap lips and missing iridium yourself, when it's too late. (And of course, needless to say, 'return policy' is not a known thing in auctions). We adjust to this, but it's nice when we don't have to. Pearce has it in the descriptions. Second, painless shipping. He just does it himself. There were no tedious emails to UPS Stores, no exchanges of signed forms that you have to print out, fill out with your sensitive credit card info, and then scan, and then... blah, blah. I'm falling asleep just thinking about it. None of that stuff. The pens just showed up at my doorstep. Thanks. I'm pleased with the five lots I got, and look forward to the next auction. Oh, and PS: don't forget those prices are CANADIAN dollars-cheaper than they look.
