Folk Art Auctions is an auction house located in Macon, Georgia catering to self-taught art. The owner/auctioneer, Dennis Voigt, has been an enthusiastic collector for 20 years. He has attended several auctions and numerous events catering to self-taught art.
His passion has grown exponentially throughout the years as he has met with several artists and have listened to their enriched stories about their art. He has accepted several artists that he has met along the way as dear friends and family. The preservation of the stories that come along with the art is important and he would like to ensure that those stories stay alive and documented. The interaction with other collectors that share a similar passion has been extremely important, as knowledge sharing has been key to learning about the many artists that are no longer with us and ensuring that those stories are passed on.
He has now set out to fulfill a dream of curating and providing an accessible marketplace for folk art enthusiasts like himself. That dream will expand to other projects in the future involving a museum, to preserve the past, and a gallery, to highlight the present and past, located in central Georgia.
Folk Art Auctions is currently online only, hosted by LiveAuctioneers, as we are searching for a commercial piece of real estate so that we can host live auctions soon. The gathering of art enthusiasts is important to us and we look forward to hosting live events.

Great experience from beginning to end for unique item
My experience with Folk Art Auctions was excellent — start to finish. The Willie Tarver sculpture was a unique piece in excellent condition. The bidding went smoothly. The invoice came promptly. The owner worked with me to pick up my item locally. And worked around my schedule because I was traveling and stopping briefly for the express purpose of retrieving my sculpture. The owner is super knowledgable and passionate about folk rt and took time out of his busy schedule to chat about other folk artists he was intimately familiar with. Great experience. I hope to deal with them again soon.

Nice pieces and great seller
I bought 2 pieces from Folk Art Auctions. They shipped out literally 2 days after the auction, the fastest shipping I’ve ever experienced from any auctioneer. The shipping price was reasonable. I reached out to the seller, Dennis Voight, by email after I received my items with some questions. He responded by phone almost immediately and addressed my questions promptly and professionally.
