Whether you prefer to travel by land or by sea, Worth Auctions has you covered?the November 5, 2017 sale will feature a 2008 Kawasaki Concours 14 sport touring motorcycle, a 1989 Fleetwood Prowler fifth wheel camper trailer, and an 11-foot Dagger Crossfire whitewater kayak with paddle and wall mount. Also showcased are a number of sculptural works by Peter Grippe and Salvatore Grippi?brothers despite their differently spelled surnames, and both leading figures of the Abstract Expressionist movement whose works are well-represented in museum collections but too rarely seen on the auction block. The pieces range from small tabletop maquettes to towering floor pieces in wood, ceramic, and bronze. Other notable offerings from the Fine Art Department are a pair of seventeenth-century oil on copper religious paintings with ex-Christie's provenance, photographs by Berenice Abbott and Leonard Freed, Old Master etchings by Adrien Van Ostade and Jacques Callot, a hand-colored lithograph by Currier & Ives, and contemporary abstract paintings by Paul E. Maxwell. The sale will also include several selections from an extensive private collection of vintage jazz and rock records, a Philadelphia-made melodeon, a grandfather clock, Gregorian chant manuscripts, astronomical binoculars, Victorian pink glass mantle vases, antique European currency, a bookcase with gilted Corinthian columns, a hand-painted Chinese folding screen, vintage stained glass windows, a large assortment of costume jewelry, and much more. The live sale will commence at 11:00 AM at the Galleries at Worth Asset Brokerage (2085 Dryden Road, Freeville, New York) and interested parties are encouraged to attend the preview from 9:00 to 11:00 AM to admire these offerings in person.
