Prehistoric and Historic Artifact Auction
What an auction this turned out to be. The second portion of the Rick Stevens Collection will sell in this auction. Rick Stevens, known as Dalton Man, was active in archaeological societies and events for decades. He served as President of Central States and hosted the Springdale Artifact Show during this time. We will be offering fine pieces from his collection of Hixton artifacts, many of his personal finds and a fine selection of Danish pieces. We are also pleased to offer a fine selection of artifacts from the well know Gary Noel collection. Gary is a familiar face in the artifact collecting community and one of the most trusted opinions to be found. Gary acquired a good size portion of the old E.E. Curtiss collection a few years ago. This old collection (with many pieces being pictured in Red Tully's book) is well represented in the group of artifacts Gary is offering in this sale. Last, but not least, we are cleaning up the remainder of the artifacts we received directly from the Earl Townsend family. This will be the last offering from this iconic assemblage. Sale highlights include two Drilled Spatulates with excellent history, one being pictured many years ago in Redskin. Harvey McGehee's Bobcat Effigy Bottle and a full, wide bodied Human Effigy Bottle will be sold. The are a number of fine Bannertones in this sale, along with a broad selection of very fine flint artifacts. Don't miss this opportunity to add some fine artifacts to your collection.
