TOP RATEDA large and diverse offering of vintage and antique books, ephemera, postcards, photographs and more comprised mostly from the estates of Russell Johanson, Ravenna Rare Books, Seattle, Washington and Eugene Carroll (Chuck) Hemgren which includes books and photographs from the estate of Jessie Rankin Wharton (1857-1923) refferred to as the "Grand Old Man of Butte (Montana)" that desended generations. This auction is highlighted with Montana history in the form of books, photos and more including an original photograph of Jessie Rankin Wharton and W.A. Clark together. Also, an antique Montana historical reference book that appears to be the only known example. From the estate collection of Russell Johanson comes another large grouping of rare and unusual books and ephemera dating from the 18th century to the mid 20th century. Mostly non-fiction and covering any array of topics showing once again the wide scope of Mr. Johanson's collection. Another auction not to be missed.

Online Bidding:
All online bidders are required to register with the online platform of their choice. Registration for online bidding follows the rules and requirements set by the platform chosen. In addition to those requirements, these Terms & Conditions apply.
Online Registration Requirements:
In most cases, registration online is for a specific auction only. Grant Zahajko Auctions, L.L.C. has the authority to approve or disapprove an individual for bidding at their auction. In addition to the requirements for the specific platform, Grant Zahajko Auctions, L.L.C. may require an individual to submit a valid credit card prior to the auction to be accepted for bidding.
Buyer's Premium:
A 21% Buyers Premium will be added to all online bids. All bidders agree to accept our Terms & Conditions of Auction when bidding.
Buyer's Review of Lots:
Bidders should examine all lots prior to bidding as all items are sold as-is.
Bidder Disputes:
If any dispute occurs between two (or more) bidders, the Auctioneer may decide the sale. Or the Auctioneer may immediately put the lot up for sale again and resell to the highest bidder. The decision of the Auctioneer shall be final, fixed, and unequivocal.
Personal and Property Risk:
Persons in attendance during preview, sale, or removal of goods, assume any and all risks of damage of or loss to person and property, and specifically release the Auctioneer from liability therefore. Neither the Auctioneer, Grant Zahajko Auctions, L.L.C., nor their principal, shall be liable in the event of any dispute. The Auctioneer and Grant Zahajko Auctions, L.L.C., may tape record and/or video tape any auction, and the buyer agrees to allow such tape recording and/or video tape to be submitted as evidence in a court of law. Buyers agree to pay all reasonable fees incurred in enforcing these terms.
Removal:
Removal shall be at the expense, liability, and risk of the purchaser. Purchases can be removed from premises only upon presentation of a paid invoice. The Auctioneer shall not be responsible for goods not removed/shipped within 30 days and shall have the option of removing and storing at the expense and risk of the purchaser any article purchased.
Non-Delivery Responsibility:
Auctioneer shall not, in any event, be liable for non-removal, or for any other matter or thing, to any purchaser of any lot, other than for the return to the purchaser of the deposit, or sum paid on said lot, should the purchaser be entitled to it.
Claims:
No claims will be allowed after goods are removed from premises by bidder, or after receipt by bidder.
Compliance with the Terms of Sale:
In default of payment of invoices in full within the time specified, the auctioneer, in addition to all other remedies allowed by law, may retain all moneys received as deposit or otherwise as liquidated damages. Lots not paid for and removed within the time specified herein may be resold at public or private sale without further notice, and any deficiency, together with all expenses and costs of re-sale, will be paid by the defaulting purchaser.
Condition of Items Sold:
The Auctioneer shall not be responsible for the correct description, authenticity, genuineness of, or defect in any lot, and makes no warranty in connection therewith. No allowance will be made, or sale set aside, on account of any incorrectness or error in cataloguing, or any imperfection not noted. No deduction will be allowed on damaged articles as all goods being exposed for public exhibition are sold ?as-is? and without recourse.
Addition-To, or Withdrawal-From, Sale:
The Auctioneer reserves the right to withdraw from Auction any of the items listed for sale. The Auctioneer also reserves the right to sell at this Auction items not currently listed. Additionally, the Auctioneer reserves the right to group one or more lots into one or more selling lots or to subdivide lots into two or more selling lots. Whenever the best interest of the seller is served, the auctioneer reserves when necessary the right to sell all of the items listed in bulk.
Reserve:
The Auctioneer reserves the right to reject any, and all, bids. On lots with a reserve, the auctioneer has the right to bid on behalf of the seller.
Additional Terms and Conditions:
Any additional terms or conditions of sale, added by Auctioneer, shall be announced prior to the Auction and are binding.
Agency:
The Auctioneer is acting as agent only and is not responsible for acts of its principals.
