Fall Antique/Estate Auction
Raleigh Auction & Estate Sales is pleased to announce our fall Fine Antique / Estate Auction. We will be selling Civil War-era military items from a Kinston estate (deceased), as well as items from local consignors. Of special interest are a few pieces from the historic Shook-Smathers House in Clyde, NC, the oldest standing frame house west of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Also of interest are several items from an 1870 Victorian house and carriage barn in upstate New York.

Terms: All sales subject to the terms and conditions of sale. Live bidding, absentee or telephone bidding at the auction house is available with a 13% buyer's premium. Live Internet bidding available on EBay Live Auctions with an 18% buyer's premium. Payment is due at end of auction by cash (In House Only), certified funds, approved check, Visa, or MC with 6.75% NC sales tax.
1. Your bid at the auction, either by phone, absentee bid, online, or in person, signifies your agreement to the Terms & Conditions of Sale.
2. All property is offered for sale as-is, with all faults and all sales are final. All items are available for examination prior to bidding, and it is the bidder's responsibility to determine the exact condition/authenticity of each item. Your bidding will signify that you have examined the items as fully as you deem necessary or that you have chosen not to examine them. Statements by representatives of Raleigh Auction & Estate Sales, as well as statements in print, are statements of opinion only and shall NOT be considered as a warranty, representations of fact, or assumption of liability.
3. At the fall of the hammer, ownership of the lot sold will pass to the bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer and the bidder accepts full responsibility for the item. The auctioneer has the final authority to re-offer an article in dispute, and to determine the successful bidder.
4. The auctioneer reserves the right to withdraw any item at any time before the hammer falls and the item is sold.
5. The auctioneer reserves the right to reject any original bid that, in his opinion, is not commensurate with the value of the article offered, and any advance thereafter that is not of sufficient amount.
6. Raleigh Auction & Estate Sales may place an undisclosed reserve on some lots, a price which serves as a minimum sale price for the item.
7. Live Internet bidding is available during the auction. However, Raleigh Auction & Estate Sales is not responsible live Internet bids that are not sent, received, or executed by the administrator.
8. Packing and shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. We will provide a list of several professional shippers for your items upon request. We may agree to package and ship items at our discretion, upon request. All packaging and shipping is done at purchaser's risk and expense.
9. If you are bidding live on-line (real-time), please bid as quickly as possible. Bids left on the Internet will be executed on your behalf during the auction by ebayliveauctions.com.
10. Telephone bidding is available by calling our office at least two hours prior to the start of sale. Absentee and telephone bids will be executed in a fair, competitive and confidential manner. Raleigh Auction & Estate Sales is not responsible for failure to execute absentee or phone bids.
11. Payment: All items purchased in person must be paid for on sale day. All items purchased via absentee or phone bidding must be secured with a credit card pre-authorization or blank check. For items purchased through EBay Live Auctions, Raleigh Auction & Estate Sales will contact and send an invoice to all winning bidders via e-mail within 48 hours from the completion of the auction. We accept cash (In House Only), check with proper ID or approval, Visa, and MC. If you have not contacted Raleigh Auction & Estate Sales within 24 hours of the time that invoice is sent, we will charge the credit card you used to register for the auction for the amount of your invoice. Failure to make payment arrangements within 7 days following the auction will result in a NPB being placed on your EBay account. If paying by check, Raleigh Auction & Estate Sales reserves the right to hold the property until the check has cleared.
12. Storage: Unless prior arrangements are made, pick-up within 10 working days of auction is requested or, a $10.00 per day storage fee will be charged.
